Platform Settings
Platform settings define the organisational and operational context in which monitoring, policies, alarms, and protection operate. These settings establish boundaries, relationships, and constraints that ensure the platform reflects the real industrial environment, rather than an abstract technical model.
Platform settings are therefore treated as governed configuration, not casual preferences.
IP Ranges and Network Boundaries
IP ranges are used to define network boundaries and zones within the industrial environment.
Operationally, this enables the platform to:
- Distinguish between OT, IT, and external networks
- Apply monitoring and policy logic appropriately based on network context
- Interpret network events in their correct operational context
Clearly defined IP ranges help avoid misclassification of assets and reduce ambiguity during investigations and enforcement decisions.
Enterprise Map
The enterprise map represents the logical and operational structure of the organisation's environment.
It may reflect:
- Sites, plants, or production areas
- Zones and conduits
- Logical groupings of assets based on function or criticality
The enterprise map provides context for:
- Asset grouping and policy application
- Alarm scoping and escalation
- Reporting and compliance views
Changes to the enterprise map are governed carefully, as they directly influence how policies and visibility are applied.
User Settings
User settings define individual user preferences and contextual parameters that do not affect enforcement or governance logic.
Examples may include:
- Display and notification preferences
- Personal operational views
User settings are intentionally separated from system and policy settings to ensure that personal preferences cannot influence monitoring, detection, or protection behaviour.
Licensing
Licensing settings define the entitlements and capacity limits of the platform.
Operationally, licensing controls:
- The number and type of protected assets
- Availability of specific platform capabilities
- Compliance with contractual terms
License-related events are monitored and recorded to ensure visibility into compliance, expiry, and capacity utilisation.
